Gift Aid enables charities to claim the associated (income) tax from the Inland Revenue for voluntary contributions made by (tax paying) individuals to that charity.
The Diocese of Southwark as a registered charity, can claim back tax on contributions made by Catholic Hythe parishioners.
- So the money you give can 'grow' without you having to give any more.
- All you need to do is complete some simple forms. These forms do not require a high level of personal detail (e.g. you do NOT have to give personal earnings details.) You just need to indicate on the official form, that you are declaring your contributions.
- So if you are a taxpayer, Gift Aid can make your money grow by 28 pence for every £1 ....... £28 for every £100 you give.
